Now You Can Handle Foot Arch Pain Effectively!

What is Arch Pain?

One of the arches in your foot runs the length of your foot and the other across the width of your foot. The ligaments that support these bones and arches could become sore or bruised because of athletic injury or poorly fitting shoes. Another contributing factor is flat feet or those who have a condition called "over pronation".

This will cause pain in your arches mostly in the longitudinal arch that can occur suddenly or over a slow period of time. What can be done about it?
You can seek medical advice with a qualified orthopedic specialist and also do a few simple things at home.

  • You can get extra support for the foot arch using orthotic insoles or inserts. This will provide a long term solution for both the current hurt foot and help prevent future foot injury.
  • Use icepacks on arch of your hurt foot for about 30 minutes, 4 times a day. Do this for about 3 days or until the pain subsides.
  • You may also want to seek a physician's subscription for an anti-inflammatory medication.
  • Stay away from athletic exercise until you have fully recovered. To determine if you are recovered, start out with a series of foot exercise and then slowly move into jogging, sprinting and jumping.

To prevent future foot arch pain, you should have fitting shoes for a specific activity with good arch support. You could also look at a foot care orthotic device like an orthotic shoe insert. These can be worn all the time, including when you are engaged in athletic activity. One of the most effective of these is the Spenco heel and arch pain relief that go hand-in-hand.

If you would like a non-surgical treatment for heal spurs, foot arch pain, arch support, flat feet, sore feet or other types of correctable foot problems, you should seriously consider a foot care orthotic such as the Phase 4 orthotic shoe insert or orthotic insole available from Walkfit.
